In the golden autumn season, the crisp autumn wind gently caresses the clear blue waves of Nanxi River. In this landscape painting dyed golden by the sunlight, a unique team event is gradually unfolding. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pictet, enrich the employees’ cultural life in their spare time, and enhance the team spirit and cohesion, on October 25, 2025, the management teams of Pictet’s various companies temporarily put aside their busy work and went together to the hidden mountain and water realm of “Poetic and Picturesque Yongjia”, embarking on a wonderful journey that combines natural beauty with team building.

At 8 o ‘clock on the day of the event, the team members set off on time and arrived at the banks of the Nanxi River. After arriving, everyone went to the outdoor campsite by the river to experience the making of traditional Nanxi River cuisine. Under the guidance of local masters, the members were divided into groups to learn how to make special wheat cakes. There are two flavors of wheat cakes: sweet and salty. The sweet ones are filled with brown sugar and sesame seeds, while the salty ones are made with ingredients such as dried shrimp, scallions, diced meat, and dried tofu. Some even add free-range eggs to enhance the freshness. The freshly baked wheat cakes are fragrant and inviting, with a golden and crispy crust and a fresh and juicy filling that makes one’s mouth water.

After enjoying a sumptuous lunch, the team was greeted by the highlight of this event – the bamboo rafting experience at Lion Rock in Nanxi River. A group of people boarded several traditional bamboo rafts and personally experienced the poetic and picturesque scene of “drifting along the river on a small bamboo raft and walking on both banks of the majestic green mountains”. During the rafting process, the distant undulating green mountains stretch on and on, and the nearby lush beach forests sway in the wind. The clear river water reflects the picturesque scenery on both banks. The most charming stream and mountain views of Nanxi River are all within sight, making people feel relaxed and happy, reluctant to leave.

The afternoon’s itinerary is arranged at the Shizhuiyan Scenic Area, which is renowned for its magnificent, perilous and beautiful scenery. The core attraction of the scenic area is a 306-meter-high light red giant rock, whose top resembles a double lotus bud or a ship’s mast, thus earning the name “Stone Mast Rock”. It enjoys the reputation of “the Pillar of the Sky in Southern Zhejiang” and is regarded as the first wonder of China. This rock is surrounded by a stream on three sides. The peaks across the stream are less than half as high as it, further highlighting its imposing presence that pierces the clouds. Walking along the plank road by the stream to the foot of the rock, one can enjoy the diverse postures of the stream: sometimes as calm as a mirror, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds; Sometimes it rushes like a waterfall, playing the symphony of nature, leaving people with endless aftertaste.

In the evening, the team went to the ancient village of Lingshang Renjia to enjoy the local specialty dinner of roasted whole lamb. This village is located halfway up the mountain in Hesheng Township, Yongjia County. It has been inhabited since the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty and retains the original ecological rural landscape with a history of over 400 years. The local whole roasted lamb is made from high-quality local goats, marinated with a family secret sauce and then slowly roasted over charcoal. The finished product has a golden and crispy skin, tender and juicy meat, and is not greasy. Paired with the villagers’ self-brewed rice wine, it is a delicacy of the world, bringing a perfect taste ending to the team-building trip.
